Faculty admits chartered engineer and former naval officer
A chartered engineer and former naval oficer has been admitted to the Faculty of Advocates.
Before undertaking his law degree, Tim Haddow had an 18 year career with the Royal Navy in 1992 which included roles as principal warfare officer (communications) in HMS Ark Royal, the then fleet flagship, and weapons engineer officer in the frigate HMS Montrose. He also holds a degree in electronics and electrical engineering.
The son of Christopher Haddow QC, he is also a former member of the children’s panel and a campaigner for fairer access to the legal profession.
At his admission ceremony, Gordon Jackson QC, Dean of Faculty, told Mr Haddow: “Some of us have only been lawyers but you have had another career… Bringing that variety of background experience will, I am sure, be of great value.”
