Faculty choir to give Christmas concert for homeless support charity
Author Alexander McCall Smith and jazz guitarist Nigel Clark are the guest appearances in this year’s Advocates Choir charity concert at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh.
Now in its 21st year, the annual event offers free admission but takes a retiring collection for Edinburgh City Mission and its work with the homeless.
In addition to the traditional mix of seasonal readings, choral and community singing, Mr McCall Smith has written a short piece especially for the concert which he will read on the night, and Mr Clark will play a special arrangement of a Christmas classic devised for the occasion.
The concert takes place on Thursday 15 December from 7 till about 8.15pm.
“Take a break from shopping, pop in on your way home from work or bring the children – it will be the perfect start to the evening,” said Ross Macfarlane QC, the choir’s artistic director.
Tickets can be obtained from the Queen’s Hall box office, 0131 668 2019.
