Far north firm's will scheme raises £6,640 for charity
A legal firm in the far north of Scotland has raised thousands of pounds for a local dementia charity through its annual Free Will appeal.
Georgesons, Solicitors, which has offices in Wick, Tain and Thurso, raised £6,640 to support the work of Alzheimer Scotland in its local area.
Bruce de Wert, the firm's principal, commented: "Being so remote, we tend not to join in national appeals as our fundraising is ring-fenced to be used locally. This helps."
Associate Kimberley Mackay, who headed the fundraiser, added: "We were amazed at the response of the north public. They really understood the problems that dementia causes and they came in in their droves to help."
Gail Goller, North Highland Service Manager at Alzheimer Scotland, responded: "On behalf of Alzheimer Scotland, we greatly appreciate the phenomenal success and the effort and work of the Georgesons staff behind it. This will help us, locally, to support people living with dementia and their families."
