Final days of polling for Society Council constituencies

11th May 2018 | law society of scotland

Solicitors have less than a week left to vote in constituencies where there is a contest for places on the Law Society of Scotland's Council.

A total of 16 solicitors are competing for four seats across three constituencies, covering parts of the west of Scotland and also the seat reserved for a recently-qualified solicitor, and the Society is urging eligible members to help choose the candidates to represent their interests.

Voting closes at 12 noon on Wednesday, 16 May.

Solicitors in Campbeltown, Dumbarton, Dunoon, Oban, Rothesay and Fort William can vote online for their preferred candidates of the three standing for two seats.

Solicitors in Greenock, Kilmarnock and Paisley can select from two candidates standing for the single seat representing their constituency; and newly qualified and trainee solicitors have a choice of 11 candidates all running for the one seat representing their interests.
