Five Scots among Pinsent Masons partner promotions

24th March 2015 | careers

Pinsent Masons has appointed five new partners in Scotland, as it makes up 29 lawyers across the partnership generally in its largest promotion round to date.

Financial services specialists Stacey Bairner and Alan Cassels, infrastructure experts Craig Morrison and Victoria Miller and real estate-focused Gary McGovern will all be promoted from 1 May. Elsewhere there have also been promotions across the firm's offices in Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore and the UAE.

As a result the firm will have more than 70 partners in Scotland, among a partnership of over 400 people globally.

This is the first round of promotions at Pinsent Masons since the firm launched Project Sky, a programme aimed at achieving an improved gender balance in the firm's partnership and senior leadership team. It is anticipated that female partners will make up 22% of the total partnership from 1 May, against a milestone of achieving 25% by 2018.

Richard Masters, partner and Pinsent Masons board member, said: “Each of the five new partners deserves recognition for their hard work and dedication to their clients.

“These promotions reflect our continued commitment to nurturing the best talent Scotland has to offer, and our ability to give the next generation of lawyers a global platform from which to develop their careers."

Earlier this month Pinsent Masons announced plans to open its first Australian offices, in Sydney and Melbourne.
