Gildeas acquires Glasgow firm Fulton's
Edinburgh and Glasgow law firm Gildeas has acquired the practice of Fulton’s Solicitors & Estate Agents.
The existing Gildeas conveyancing practice will merge with Fulton’s, which will continue trading as a separate entity from its two bases in Mount Florida and Clarkston.
Under the deal Gildeas, which marks its 30th anniversary this year, will see its total workforce expand by 13 to 77 in what is its first acquisition.
Gildeas will continue to focus on personal injury work in Scotland and seek further acquisition opportunities to drive growth. A small number of Gildeas staff, including senior solicitors, will transfer to Fulton’s as a result of the acquisition.
Fulton’s was set up in 2013 as the demerging private client department of the then firm of HBM Sayers. Its practice offers a range of services including property conveyancing and estate agency, wills, trusts and estates.
Gildeas director Colin Ferguson commented: “We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of Fulton’s and would like to welcome their team on board.
“I am confident that our new business structure will enable Gildeas to focus on our core personal injury work and ensure we are well positioned to take advantage of opportunities in this area as they arise.
“Our existing conveyancing practice has merged with a thriving business which has an experienced team at the helm and a loyal customer base.”
