Gilson Gray "Grace banquet" raises more than £82,000

16th October 2017 | Charities

More than £82,000 has been raised for children’s causes at a charity dinner hosted by law firm Gilson Gray.

The firm's third annual “Grace banquet”, on Friday 6 October at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh, was the best yet in terms of fundraising, thanks to the support of more than 300 guests from across the Scottish business community.

Sharing the total proceeds of £82,450 are Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (GCHC), chosen by staff at Gilson Gray, which has bases in both cities.

Matthew Gray, managing director of Property Services at Gilson Gray commented: “Events like this show that there is real social responsibility throughout the Scottish business world – and we would like to sincerely thank all who contributed to this special evening.”

Roslyn Neely, chief executive, ECHC said: "It was a brilliant night and it was amazing to see the incredible sums of money raised by generous people in the audience.

"The funds raised will be used to transform the experiences of children and young people in hospital, so they can be a child first and a patient second."

Shona Cardle, chief executive, GCHC added: “We would like to thank Gilson Gray for their tremendous support, as this generous donation will go a long way in supporting the 168,000 children treated at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital each year.”
