Grant Smith promotes three as director moves to consultant

29th August 2016 | careers

North east firm Grant Smith Law Practice has announced three solicitor promotions, as one of its founding directors moves to a consultancy role.

Garry Sturrock (litigation) and Amy Young (commercial property) in the Aberdeen office, and Calum Slessor who covers a wide range of matters in the firm’s Banff office, which operates as Alexander George & Co, have all made the step up to associate in recognition of their increasing contribution to the practice, which has offices in Aberdeen, Banff, Buckie and Turriff.

At the same time Donald Macandrew is to become a consultant, after a career in the legal profession spanning more than 30 years. Mr Macandrew, who headed the private client area of the business alongside fellow director Andrew Duthie, will continue to act in property sales, purchase and leasing, and wills and executries.

Director Sheila Ritchie commented: “These latest associate promotions demonstrate the firm’s ethos of rewarding our members of staff for their hard work. I am confident each of the three new associates will continue to repay our faith in them, offering a valuable level of service to our clients, both large and small, across the north-east of Scotland.

“We are also pleased that Donald will remain with the firm in a consultancy role and continue to share his wealth of experience.”
