HM Connect launches breakfast club
HM Connect, the support and referral network for Scottish legal firms, is launching a breakfast club to provide a networking group for legal entrepreneurs.
The club, which will hold its first event in the Glasgow offices of Harper Macleod on Tuesday 7 May, will provide solicitors with a forum to discuss common business issues.
Free to attend and open to all, the agenda will be driven by the needs and interests of those attending.
Stephen Vallance, a member of the team at HM Connect who formerly ran his own law firm, said: "Many solicitors will be involved in networking groups, often as the 'token' solicitor hoping to develop business. However there are few if any places where they can meet to chat solely about the business of law. That's despite the fact that many practices face similar issues about developing new, more efficient ways to find, retain and process work flows.
"The Legal Entrepreneurs' Breakfast Club will allow those with ideas to tap into the knowledge of others who have perhaps experienced similar challenges to themselves. Indeed while universities and legal firms provide excellent training, entrepreneurial ideas and business development are not always high on the agenda. Meeting the challenges of the current legal market requires thinking outside of the box, yet who do you speak to about it?"
Numbers are limited, but places can be reserved by email to hello@hmconnect.co.uk.
