Inverness partner appointment for Harper Macleod
Legal firm Harper Macleod has recruited corporate and commercial lawyer Fiona Neilson as a partner in its Inverness office.
Ms Neilson, for many years a partner at Ledingham Chalmers, has joined Harper Macleod's Corporate & Commercial team which now has more than 25 lawyers across its four principal offices.
In Inverness the firm has also recently supported the launch of the Inverness Law Project access to justice initiative, and is the headline sponsor of the new Highlands & Islands Renewable Energy Awards, which will take place on 25 April, the evening of the firm's own 10th Scottish Highland Renewable Energy Conference in Inverness.
Chris Kerr, lead partner of Harper Macleod's Highlands and Islands operation, commented: "We are delighted that Fiona has chosen to join us, reinforcing our position as the pre-eminent corporate law firm in the Highlands and Islands. I know from personal experience that she is an excellent lawyer who has a very strong reputation among the business community in the Highlands and beyond. She will be a great asset to both the firm and our clients."
He added: "We are actively recruiting for more lawyers, to add to the team, as well as having created dedicated career paths for trainee solicitors, providing a route into the profession for law students who want to stay in the Highlands to develop their careers. The Highlands and Islands economy is creating a lot of opportunities and we believe that we can grow further alongside the area's business community."
