Jack Brown appointed a sheriff in Aberdeen
Dundee solicitor Jack Brown has been appointed a sheriff of Grampian, Highland & Islands, based in Aberdeen.
A graduate of Dundee University, Mr Brown trained with Dundee City Council, then worked with J & J Hunter before becoming a partner in Shaw & Co and then in 1996 setting up his own practice, Jack Brown & Co. He was appointed as a solicitor advocate in 2003 and has been a part time sheriff since 2005.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon made her recommendation to the Queen for his appointment on the basis of a report by the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.
