Kennedy named as MacRoberts' managing partner
Legal firm MacRoberts announced today that corporate partner Neil Kennedy will succeed John Macmillan as managing partner from 1 May 2018.
An Aberdeen University graduate, Mr Kennedy has been with MacRoberts for 19 years and a partner for 10.
Mr Macmillan, after his second spell as managing partner, will continue as an employment partner for the firm. The handover process has been planned for more than four months already.
On his appointment Mr Kennedy commented: "I am really delighted to have the opportunity to serve the firm as managing partner. Anyone who has met me knows that I am really passionate about MacRoberts and the people who make it the firm it is. We have achieved great success under John Macmillan’s expert watch and we will continue to achieve this through investment, underpinned by exceptional talent and service."
Mr Macmillan added: "Neil Kennedy will be a very fine successor. He has all the right attitude, client and staff focus and MacRoberts’ ethos. The firm will be in very good hands and I was delighted by the strength of the partner support for his appointment. Having been in the MP role for more than 11 of the last 20 years and all of the last three and half, I was sure it was time to hand the role on to a more dynamic and focused individual."
MacRoberts has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.
