Lay member named for Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland
Elizabeth Burnley CBE has been appointed as a lay member of the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.
Ms Burnley has a background in occupational psychology, HR and general management. A career in railway and chemical engineering culminated in her leading a company manufacturing industrial locomotives. She then moved into consultancy in team development and assessment and selection methods, and undertook a role in this area for the Boots Company plc. After experience as a non-executive director within the NHS, she now chairs fitness to practise hearings for the Nursing & Midwifery Council. She was a lay assistant to JABS from January 2016, and as a volunteer was Chief Guide for five years and remains involved with Guiding.
Her appointment is for four years until 8 August 2022.
