Levy & McRae agrees corporate team transfer to bto
The corporate team of Glasgow law firm Levy & McRae is to transfer to Glasgow and Edinburgh practice bto solicitors under a deal agreed between the two firms.
Levy & McRae partners Andrew Sleigh and Gary Booth, and corporate solicitor Craig Daniels, will team up with bto partners Jeremy Glen and Alastair Dunn.
An accredited specialist in insolvency law, Mr Sleigh is well known for his corporate recovery experience. He also brings a sports law capability to bto’s advice portfolio.
Mr Booth has practised law in Scotland, London and Dubai, and his experience includes numerous cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. He also has expertise in sports law, particularly in relation to football and golf.
Bto currently has 40 partners, 66 solicitors and a total of 215 personnel.
Chairman Alan Borthwick commented: “Andrew and Gary are top class lawyers and we are very pleased to have them join bto’s team.”
He added: “This recruitment closely follows our move in July to larger office premises at One Edinburgh Quay where we are actively seeking to recruit new personnel. We are excited about the future and look forward to working with Andrew, Gary and Craig.”
Bill Macreath, senior partner of Levy & McRae said: “Andrew Sleigh, Gary Booth and their corporate team go with the firm's best wishes to bto, a larger practice better able to provide the scale of corporate support required, given the market’s recovery.
“Levy & McRae shall continue to work closely with Andrew, Gary and their team going forward when they are established in their new roles at bto.”
Levy & McRae has also promoted Laura Salmond from associate to partner, and expanded its litigation team with the appointment of Ian Cahill, Sofia Crolla and Simone Lucas as assistants.
