Lindsays to merge with Dundee's RSB macdonald
Scottish solicitor firms Lindsays and RSB macdonald have announced their intention to merge.
RSB macdonald, which has offices in Dundee, will combine with Lindsays, who practise from Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and North Berwick, on 6 July 2015. Its five partners will become partners in the merged firm, which will be known on Tayside as RSB Lindsays.
In total the merged firm will have 38 partners.
Alasdair Cummings, Lindsays' managing partner, commented: “We are delighted with the merger. It is a perfect fit, as both firms share the same core values, our personal approach and focus on delivering an excellent service to clients.
“RSB macdonald is a well-established firm with an excellent reputation, in particular in residential property, family law and the services it offers to individuals and families. The addition of their clients and people will further strengthen our own teams and allow us to continue growing our business in this region.
“I believe that the historical synergy is also fitting given that Lindsays celebrates its 200th anniversary this year and is merging with another long-standing firm that can trace its roots back to the 1880s.”
Derek Duncan, partner at RSB macdonald, added: “This is an extremely exciting time for us. We believe the merger will bring further benefits to our clients through access to additional areas of expertise such as employment law, licensing, and corporate and commercial advice for businesses throughout Tayside.”
