Lord Advocate to deliver Aberdeen Law Project lecture
Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland QC will be the keynote speaker at this year's annual lecture held by the Aberdeen Law Project.
Mr Mulholland, an Aberdeen graduate, will speak on access to justice and how it impacts society at the event on Friday 27 February, at the King’s College Auditorium, University of Aberdeen.
A student-led law clinic and community outreach project, the Aberdeen Law Project has attracted a number of distinguished speakers since its foundation in 2009, including retired Deputy President of the Supreme Court Lord Hope, Court of Session judge Lady Dorrian and advocate Gary Allan QC. Its supporters include many leading lawyers along with local and international law firms.
Caitlin Hurst, the student director of the Aberdeen Law Project, said: “We are thrilled to welcome friend and supporter of the project Frank Mulholland QC back to Aberdeen. As the Lord Advocate Mr Mulholland is uniquely positioned to comment on the access to justice issues that are currently affecting the people of Scotland.
“The interest that we have already received from lawyers, students and members of the public wishing to attend has been considerable. We look forward to welcoming as many as we can accommodate on the day.”
The lecture is open to the public and anyone wishing to attend should contact Katy Hood by emailing events@abdnlawproject.com.
