Lord Advocate to give SYLA annual lecture

1st September 2015

Lord Advocate Frank Mulholland QC is to give this year's annual lecture of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association. He intends to speak on the subject of human rights in the criminal justice sphere.

In association with Scott & Co, the lecture will take place at the Hilton Grosvenor, Grosvenor Street, Edinburgh EH12 5EF on Thursday 10 September, at 7pm with registration, drinks and canapes from 6pm.

Mr Mulholland has spent his career in the prosecution service, as a depute fiscal in Greenock, Glasgow and Edinburgh, before taking up posts in the Crown Office, first in the High Court unit and then in appeals. In 1997 he became the first advocate depute, and then senior advocate depute, to be appointed from within the Procurator Fiscal Service. He was appointed Solicitor General in 2007 and Lord Advocate in 2011.

The lecture may count for one hour's CPD and attendees can register for attendance here.
