Lord Keen returns as Advocate General for Scotland

Lord Keen of Elie QC has been reappointed by Prime Minister Theresa May as Advocate General for Scotland, as she completes her ministerial team following the general election.

Lord Keen was first appointed to the post in May 2015. Prior to that he was chairman of the Scottish Conservative Party.

Admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1980, Lord Keen was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1993 and served as Dean of Faculty from 2007 to 2014. He is also a member of the Bar in England & Wales and a Bencher of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.

He commented: "It is a great honour to be reappointed as the Advocate General for Scotland, and I look forward to continuing to advise the UK Government on all aspects of Scots law."
