MacRoberts announces promotions as 10 trainees kept on
Commercial law firm MacRoberts has announced a total of 11 internal promotions, along with the retention of 77% of its trainees who become newly qualified solicitors this year.
The promotions comprise one director, four senior associates, two associates and four senior solicitors.
James Keith, who has been with MacRoberts since 2003, has been promoted from senior associate to director. He advises on all aspects of pensions law and employee ownership law to trustees, companies, public sector and third sector organisations.
The four new senior associates are Catherine Greig (employment law), Jenna McLean (real estate property), Gary Baines (corporate law) and Lisa Maguire (financing transactional work, particularly corporate banking and acquisition finance).
Susan Murray in IPTC, and Victoria McMurray in corporate finance, have each been promoted to associate level; while Jennifer Burns, Jozanne Bainbridge, Jennifer Mathew and Sonja Hart become senior solicitors.
Managing partner John Macmillan commented: “We are only as good as the people we employ and I am immensely proud of everyone at MacRoberts. Everyone has worked incredibly hard this year and these promotions are richly deserved.”
This week the firm welcomes eight first-year trainees to its Glasgow and Edinburgh offices, while confirming the retention of 77% – 10 out of 13 – of its second year trainees who have just qualified.
