MacRoberts figures edge upwards on post-referendum rebound
Commercial law firm MacRoberts has reported an overall rise in revenue and profit for its financial year 2014-15, with a strong second half making up for a lull in instructions prior to the independence referendum.
The 12 months to 30 April 2015 saw turnover rise by 2% to £17.96m, while profits were up by 1.3% to £6.18m.
Managing partner John Macmillan described the winter period as "exceptionally good" after a "flat" period leading up to the referendum, and said he expected further growth of 10-15% in the current year.
MacRoberts grew its team to 47 partners and 240 total staff across its offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee. Headcount increased by 18% during the year, against a target of 10%.
