MacRoberts posts strong results for 2015-16
Healthy financial results for 2015-16 have been announced by legal firm MacRoberts.
Draft accounts in the year to 30 April 2016 show turnover growing by 10% to £19.78m with profits up 12% to £6.9m, in line with predictions by managing partner John Macmillan who last autumn forecast growth of 10-15%. The figures come against significant investment in IT, finance and client systems.
The previous year saw modest increases of 2% in turnover and 1.3% in profit.
Headcount has increased in the latest 12 months by 12% across the firm's offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee, including some significant lateral hires. Tender wins included retaining the firm's place on the Scottish Government legal framework panel.
MacRoberts' managing partner John Macmillan commented: “Against a backdrop of continuing market uncertainty and political volatility, we have grown our turnover and profit, and generated new business from both new and existing clients.
“It has been a really interesting time for the firm, with signs of increased activity in a number of sectors, particularly investments, energy and public sector, and we are looking forward to seeing that continue.”
