MacRoberts signs up employment partner
Law firm MacRoberts has bolstered its employment team at its Dundee office by recruiting employment law specialist Deborah Miller as a partner.
Ms Miller joins the practice tomorrow (1 May) from Simpson & Marwick. She has extensive experience in employment law litigation, with expertise including discrimination, equal pay, disciplinary issues, redundancy and severance matters, harassment and the TUPE Regulations. She is currently chair of Women Ahead, an organisation that supports and connects women in business and the professions in Dundee and Angus, a board member of Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce, and a part-time tutor at Dundee University.
She is the eighth new partner recruited in the last six months by MacRoberts as part of its growth strategy. Its Dundee office opened two years ago and moves this month to new premises, with the aim of doubling the workforce there over the next 12 months.
The previously announced appointment of four partners formerly with DWF (click here for report) also takes effect from tomorrow, when Robin Corbett, Martin Sales, Neil Amner and Martin Gallaher join the construction, real estate and projects practice groups. A team of 8-10 solicitors is also being recruited to support the new partners.
Also this week, a new regulatory team under new partner John McGovern was established to look at corporate crime and white-collar fraud.
Managing partner John Macmillan commented: "Deborah’s appointment is another sign of our determination to build on our existing strengths and enhance the service we offer our clients.
“She is extremely well thought of in the profession and a much sought-after lawyer so we are delighted she has agreed to join the MacRoberts’ team. She will be a great asset to our Dundee operation and the firm in general.”
