Marysia Lewis becomes Tayside, Central & Fife Sheriff Principal
Sheriff Marysia Lewis took up her appointment today (1 May) as the new Sheriff Principal of Tayside, Central & Fife, folowing an official installation in Perth Sheriff Court.
She replaces Sheriff Principal Alastair Dunlop, who served the sheriffdom for 15 years until his retirement on 30 April.
A graduate of the University of Strathclyde, Sheriff Principal Lewis was a solicitor with Monklands District Council and then City of Aberdeen District Council, before joining the firm of Edmonds & Ledingham, which merged to become Ledingham Chalmers LLP, first as a solicitor and thereafter partner. She worked with the firm for 21 years until 2008 when she became a full time sheriff, having been appoonted a part time sheriff in 2006.
