Miller Samuel hosts international gathering
Fifty lawyers from across Europe and the USA will be arriving in Glasgow tomorrow for an international network meeting hosted by local practice Miller Samuel.
The annual European Regional Meeting of the International Lawyers Network (ILN) takes place in Glasgow this year from 10-13 September.
Based in New York, the ILN's member firms comprise 5,000 lawyers in 67 countries. They cover a broad range of practice areas, with a focus on the modern global economy.
Miller Samuel intends to take the opportunity to promote to their guests the commercial and leisure opportunities available in Scotland generally and Glasgow in particular. Presenters at the meeting include David Watt, head of the Institute of Directors in Scotland, and Paul Rooney, city treasurer with Glasgow City Council.
Chairman Michael Samuel commented: “As Miller Samuel is the only Scottish member of the ILN, the last time the event took place here was 12 years ago. Clearly in that time, much has changed for the better so this event offers a unique opportunity to demonstrate the positive changes, first hand, to an extremely influential group who represent the business interests of hundreds of global companies.”
