MMS achieves top STEP accreditation

15th May 2015 | practice management , trusts-asset management

Legal firm Maclay Murray & Spens is marking the accreditation of its private client & charities team as the first Platinum Traning Partner of STEP, the worldwide association for professional advisers in the field of wealth planning acoss generations.

The platinum level is the highest of three in the STEP employer training scheme, launched earlier this year. It is designed to help employers of STEP students and members to plan and deliver the best learning experience to complement client work.

Andrew Biggart, partner in the private client & charities team, commented: “We believe it is essential that all our lawyers are qualified as trust and estate practitioners through STEP and this accreditation is an important element of this strategy. By leading the way for the profession in Scotland, clients are assured that they can rely on our technical excellence and ability to address their often complex needs.”

  • MMS also has a shortlisting in The Lawyer Awards 2015 for its EU & competition team, as Competition Team of the Year, after it acted for Skyscanner in its appeal in which the Competition Appeal Tribunal overturned a decision by the Office of Fair Trading over discounting restrictions on online travel agents.
