MMS adds two to real estate team

18th May 2015 | careers

Legal firm Maclay Murray & Spens has strengthened its real estate practice with two senior appointments.

David Rose joins the firm as a director in the Aberdeen office, while Alexis Condie comes to the firm as an associate in the Edinburgh team.

Mr Rose, who moves from Brodies, has more than 20 years' local experience and will focus on advising MMS's institutional client base on real estate projects such as the development of The Core Business Park at Bridge of Don, and the ongoing letting and management of the Union Square shopping centre.

Ms Condie, formerly of Davidson Chalmers, will work on a number of high profile development and investment transactions for institutional funds. She recently advised on the acquisition and development of the former council headquarters at Market Street, Edinburgh and the acquisition of the former Bank of Scotland premises at 7- 9 North Bank Street.

Kenneth Shand, chief executive of MMS, said: “The real estate team has been extremely busy and the appointment of David and Alexis in senior roles will enable us to further develop our depth and reach in this market. The institutional investment market, in particular, has been exceptionally buoyant and our team has also seen a significant uptick in development activity throughout Scotland."
