Montgomery takes over as OSCR chair
Lindsay Montgomery, former chief executive iof the Scottish Legal Aid Board, has been appointed chair of the Scottish Charity Regulator OSCR.
Mr Montgomery, who headed SLAB from 1999 until 2015, was been a board member of OSCR from 2006 until 2014 and served as deputy chair from 2008 until 2014. He also has many years’ experience as a charity trustee including since 2015 as chair of the Environmental Charity, Keep Scotland Beautiful.
He has also served as director of resources for Scotland Natural Heritage, worked at HM Treasury, and chaired the Non-Departmental Public Bodies Chief Executive Forum from 2002 until 2015. Other current roles include visiting professor at the University of Strathclyde School of Law, vice chair of the International Legal Aid Group and chair of the Scottish Government Digital Foundation Board. He was awarded a CBE for services to the administration of justice in 2009.
His latest appointment will run for four years from 1 March 2019 to 28 February 2023. He succeeds the Rev Dr Graham Forbes.
