OPG raises independent financial advice threshold for guardians
The Public Guardian has reviewed and increased the value of investment estate above which financial guardians must take proper financial advice when managing and dealing with an incapable adult’s investments.
From today, 5 September 2016, the threshold has been increased from £25,000 to £50,000.
This means that financial guardians must seek independent financial advice when the adult’s estate is over £50,000.
