Partner and director promotions at Murray Beith Murray

27th October 2015 | careers

Private client law firm Murray Beith Murray has announced two promotions with effect from 1 November 2015.

Andrew Paterson in the firm's asset protection group becomes a partner, while Sean Cockburn, head of the firm's tax group, is made tax director in the Edinburgh-based practice.

Mr Paterson, who joined the firm in 2013, specialises in a wide range of subjects including will drafting, tax and estate planning, complex trust issues and the administration of complex executry estates.

Mr Cockburn, a chartered tax adviser who has been with Murray Beith Murray since 2005, advises on a wide range of tax issues as well as overseeing the firm’s tax compliance function.

Senior partner Hugh Younger commented: “I am very pleased to announce the two new appointments, in each case in thriving areas of our business. Our promotions are testament to the outstanding talent and expertise shown by both Sean and Andrew, and our continued commitment to the development of our staff. I am confident that they will both continue to make a major contribution to the growth and development of our business. We congratulate them for their achievements.”
