Promotions time at MacRoberts as 10 recognised
Legal firm MacRoberts has announced a total of 10 internal promotions across its practice areas.
David McGuire, who has been with MacRoberts since 2001, has been promoted from senior associate to Director. Mr McGuire has a depth of experience in commercial property, particularly renewable energy developments, and extensive experience in hotel and commercial developments.
Nicole Cook, who joined the firm as a trainee in 2008, becomes a senior associate. Specialising in commercial property, she advises a broad range of clients including investors, developers, pension schemes, insolvency practitioners, landlords and tenants.
Angus Wood has also been promoted to senior associate. Since joining the dispute resolution team in 2013, his work has focused principally on commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on insolvency and property litigation.
Four senior solicitors have been promoted to associate: Dawn MacPherson in real estate, Lisa Maguire in banking and finance, Alan Roughhead in private client and Alan MacDonald in dispute resolution.
In addition, three solicitors have been promoted to senior solicitor: Graham Horn (dispute resolution), Brain Jackson (private client) and Pauline McLachlan (energy resources and transport).
The promotions have been announced in the same week that the firm welcomes eight first year trainees to its Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.
Managing partner John Macmillan commented: “We are only as good as the people we employ and I am immensely proud of everyone at MacRoberts. As our financial results reveal, we have all worked incredibly hard this year and these promotions are richly deserved.”
