RBS announces general counsel appointment
Michael Shaw has been appointed general counsel to Royal Bank of Scotland, the bank announced today.
Mr Shaw was previously the deputy general counsel of Barclays for six years, a position he left in September 2015, and before that a partner of law firm Herbert Smith and joint secretary to the UK Takeover Panel. He takes up his post on 19 April.
At RBS he will be responsible for the oversight of legal issues including litigation, competition, capital markets, corporate strategy, employment, and pensions as well providing support and advice for functions within the bank and for major projects and transactions.
