Real estate and corporate hires for Shoosmiths

26th January 2018 | careers

National law firm Shoosmiths has announced two appointments to its growing real estate and corporate teams in Edinburgh.

Emily McQueen joins the corporate team as a solicitor from the family business/corporate team at Turcan Connell, while Lauren Gibson, previously with R & R Urquhart in Forres, becomes a solicitor in the real estate practice.

Ms McQueen is experienced in advising clients on UK and cross-border commercial transactions; Ms Gibson has wide property experience including commercial leases and acting on behalf of landowners and estates with respect to sales, telecoms leases and securities.

Janette Speed, real estate partner and head of Shoosmiths’ Edinburgh office, commented: "We are continuing to see investment interest in Scotland and these latest appointments within our corporate and real estate teams reflect the fact that at Shoosmiths we envisage further opportunities for growth in 2018.

"The opportunity to welcome two new colleagues to our teams in the Edinburgh office also highlights the ability of our progressive law firm to offer promising young legal talent the opportunity to engage with and advise an extensive client base while progressing their careers within a dynamic and innovative large firm."
