RebLaw conference announces extra places
Additional places have been made available for Scotland's first "RebLaw" (Rebellious Law) conference, due to high demand.
Organisers describe RebLaw Scotland as "a conference with a simple mission – we want to bring together students, academics and practitioners to discuss how we can use law as a tool for social justice".
Talking place on 11 November at the University of Glasgow, the free conference will involve nine panels on social justice issues including refugees, domestic abuse, homelessness, gender pay gap, legal aid, human trafficking, austerity, forced marriage and children's rights.
RebLaw Scotland is the sister conference to the University of Law and Yale Law School’s RebLaw conferences. The Yale conference is the largest student-run public interest law conference in the US. The University of Law launched RebLaw UK last year and will be hosting its 2017 event in London on the same day as RebLaw Scotland. The conference stems from Gerald Lopez's concept of Rebellious Lawyering, which seeks to bring together lawyers from all sectors to represent under-served communities.
