Scottish Magazine Awards win for Journal editor
Peter Nicholson, editor of the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland, was recognised at the 2015 Scottish Magazine Awards, held last night at Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh.
Mr Nicholson was named winner of the Business and Professional Magazine Editor category out of a five strong shortlist that also included the editors of Holyrood, CA, The Scottish Farmer, and Scottish Local Retailer.
It is his third success in this category, which he also won in 2010 and 2012. Judges cited his personal contribution to the success and quality of the magazine.
Speaking afterwards, Mr Nicholson said he felt "humbled to be receiving the award against such a strong field".
"I am always grateful for the support I receive from the profession, which gives generously of its time in contributing to the magazine", he added. "The challenge is to keep the Journal relevant to such a diverse profession, and we are delighted at the high levels of approval our surveys record."
Kevin Lang, director of external relations at the Law Society of Scotland, commented: "All of us at the Law Society are delighted for Peter, who thoroughly deserved this award. His passion for the Journal and his commitment to providing news and informed comment to those with an interest in the legal sector continues to shine through. The fact the Journal is so well read and so well respected is testament to his continued hard work, enthusiasm and professionalism."
The Journal is produced for the Society by Connect Publications, which also won the Internal or Employee Magazine award for Treehouse, which it produces for FMC Technologies.
