Sheldon appointed to Scottish Legal Aid Board
The appointment of David Sheldon QC as Faculty Member to the Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB) has been announced by the Minister for Community Safety and Legal Affairs, Annabelle Ewing MSP.
Before being called to the bar in 1998, David Sheldon was a lecturer in law at the University of Edinburgh. He published widely on topics in criminal law and the law of evidence. Sheldon was an Associate Dean of the School of Law from 1995-1997.
His practice at the Bar included civil and criminal cases and he has appeared in all the major Scottish courts and tribunals, as well as the Privy Council and Supreme Court. He was a standing junior to the Scottish Government from 2003 until 2013.
The appointment is for three years and runs to 30 September 2020.
