Shoosmiths adds to Scottish clinical negligence strength
National law firm Shoosmiths has added to its Edinburgh office with the appointment of Derek Couper as a solicitor with Access Legal Solicitors, the firm's private client arm.
Previously a solicitor with Plexus Law in Edinburgh, he joins Shoosmiths' Scottish clinical negligence team, taking on a range of cases including long term disability, delay in cancer diagnosis, and actions arising from birth injuries affecting mothers and children. He brings considerable experience in dealing with actions arising from orthopaedic injury.
Judy Williamson, senior associate and head of clinical negligence in Scotland, commented: “Access Legal Solicitors is continuing to develop its market presence in Scotland. Our tier two ranking in the latest Legal 500 listings – rising from a tier 4 ranking in 2016 – underlines the expertise of the team and I am very pleased that Derek has been appointed as a solicitor in Edinburgh to take forward the interests of our clients.”
