SLAB chair and three members to serve further terms

Scottish Legal Aid Board chair Ray MacFarlane is to serve a further term, along with board members Marieke Dwarshuis, Paul Reid and Tim Mckay.

Ms MacFarlane, a qualified solicitor who has held senior management roles with Scottish Enterprise and HBOS plc, has served as chair since 2016 and has been reappointed for three years until 31 March 2022. She is also chair of Museums Galleries Scotland.

Marieke Dwarshuis’s career includes Director of Consumer Focus Scotland and positions in the Scottish Government, Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator, Shelter Scotland and Citizens Advice Scotland. Paul Reid is a solicitor advocate with extended rights of audience in both the civil and criminal courts. Tim Mckay is a chartered accountant and investment analyst based in Edinburgh, with experience as a non-executive director and as a member of various public oversight bodies. All three have been reappointed for four years until 31 March 2023.
