Social housing provisions of 2014 Act to come in next year
Provisions of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2014 relating to social housing will come into force in 2019, under a commencement order just published.
By SSI 2018/153, part 2 of the Act so far as not already in force, apart from ss 12 and 13, will come into force on 1 May 2019. This amends the existing law on priority of allocation of social housing and factors to be considered, short Scottish secure tenancies, antisocial behaviour as a ground for eviction, and recovery of possession of properties designed for special needs.
Sections 12 and 13, concerning assignation, sublet and joint tenancy of, and succession to, a Scottish secure tenancy, will not come into force until 1 November 2019.
