Society offers booking service for professional practice advice
Solicitors seeking professional practice advice from the Law Society of Scotland are being offered a new online appointments service.
Launched today, the new system allows solicitors to log in to the members’ area of the Society website and book telephone consultations with members of the Professional Practice team at a time that suits them.
The new facility will work alongside the current helpline, so members can still get in touch on an ad hoc basis.
The professional practice support line is staffed by experienced practitioners, from a variety of backgrounds and with access to a range of information sources and specialists from across the Society.
Fiona J Robb, the Society’s director of professional practice, commented: “Our core function in the Professional Practice team is to provide our members with free and confidential advice and guidance on ethics and professional practice matters; and it is vital that we make it easy and convenient for solicitors to get in touch.
“With that in mind, we are trialling a new online system which will allow our members to book telephone appointments in advance, so they can receive the support they need at a time that fits in with court appearances, client meetings and busy schedules.
“Once you have made your appointment in the members’ area of our website, you will receive a call at your preferred time from the member of our team with the greatest expertise to answer your query – it couldn’t be simpler.”
The support line (0131 226 8896) is open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. The team can also be contacted by email at profprac@lawscot.org.uk
Appointments are available to book now through this page.
