Solicitor advocate QC joins Brodies team

14th June 2018 | careers

One of only three practising civil solicitor advocate Queen's Counsel in Scotland has joined Brodies, the largest Scottish headquartered law firm.

Tony Jones QC becomes a partner in Brodies' advocacy unit after moving from BTO.

Mr Jones, who took silk in 2017, is a commercial litigator whose experience includes handling disputes in the contracts, construction, insolvency, real estate and intellectual property fields.

Stephen Goldie, head of Litigation at Brodies commented: “Tony’s skills and experience will complement those of our current solicitor advocates, who include Brodies’ chairman Christine O’Neill, partners Laura McMillan and Malcolm Mackay and associates Niall McLean and Craig Watt. The skills and drive Tony has shown to earn the recognition of QC will be invaluable.”

The’ appointment brings the number of partners at Brodies to 98. The firm has more than 640 people working across its offices in Aberdeen, Dingwall, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Brussels.
