SYLA announces Civil Day Conference details
Details of the annual Civil Day Conference of the Scottish Young Lawyers' Association were announced today.
This year's event, held in association with Digby Brown, will take place at Doubletree by Hilton at Dunblane Hydro on Monday 21 March, and is aimed at practitioners working in civil litigation.
Leading speakers include the Dean of Faculty, James Wolffe QC on advocacy in the civil courts; Sheriff Kenny McGowan, Edinburgh Sheriff Court, on developing court craft; Bridget McCann on oral presentation skills; Professor Hector MacQueen on the Scottish Law Commission's proposals for contract law reform; and Mark Traynor, Alex Quinn & Partners, on judicial expenses in the sheriff court and All-Scotland Personal Injury Court. There will also be streamed sessions on personal injury, commercial and family.
The conference will offer six hours' CPD, at the rate of £60 per delegate.
