SYLA announces "Women in Law" lineup
Five prominent women lawyers will make up the panel on this year's "Women in Law" event, organised by the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association.
The annual event to celebrate International Women's Day will take place on Monday 7 March 2016 at the Blythswood Square Hotel, Blythswood Square, Glasgow, from 6.30-8pm, followed by a drinks reception.
It aims to bring together a number of high profile and inspiring women from the Scottish legal community to share their personal experiences and address SYLA members on issues such as women’s rights in the UK and international context, women in the judiciary and boardroom, and whether the glass ceiling remains an issue for female lawyers in the 21st century.
This year's panel includes Eilidh Wiseman, Vice President, Law Society of Scotland; Lesley Thomson QC, Solicitor General for Scotland; Carolyn Jameson, chief legal officer for Skyscanner; Vini Cowden, founder of Women in Law Scotland; and Johane Murray, partner with Brodies LLP.
Tickets are priced at a £5 donation to Scottish Women’s Aid and can be reserved by clicking here.
