SYLA seeks new blood for committee
The Scottish Young Lawyers' Association is seeking three non-executive members to join its committee, to help with its expanding events programme.
With "more events than ever" in its diary for the coming year, SYLA is looking for applicants willing to join the team. "The committee has always been lucky to attract hardworking, innovative and dedicated young lawyers who volunteer to give something back to the profession", it said. "The work of the SYLA is varied. We need people who are good at organising events, PR and media, design, advertising and IT and communications. We are uniquely placed to address representation issues and politics surrounding the law and if this interests you then we would love to have you on board."
Interested members should contact mail@syla.co.uk to request an application form. The committee will consider all applications on 15 November 2017 and then contact the successful applicants.
Any questions can be directed to the same address.
- SYLA's next event is So you want to be... an Insurance Lawyer?, in its career series. It takes place on Wednesday 29 November 2017 from 6-7.30pm at Clyde & Co, Albany House, 58 Albany Street, Edinburgh. Attendees will hear from three insurance litigation specialists from Clyde & Co: Alison Tyler, associate; Tom Brownlee, senior associate and solicitor advocate, and Andrew Constable, partner. The event counts for one hour's CPD.
