Thorntons announces partner and associate promotion
Tayside-based legal firm Thorntons has announced two promotions in its Dundee office.
Personal injury solicitor advocate Caroline Kelly becomes the firm's 42nd partner, while private client lawyer Lynne Hopkins has been made up to associate.
Since joining the firm in 2005, Ms Kelly has worked exclusively in the area of personal injury and compensation claims. Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in personal injury law, she is also a senior litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, and currently chair of the brain injury charity Headway Tayside.
Also in her 10th year of service with Thorntons, Ms Hopkins joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2005 and recently qualified as a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She deals with a broad range of private client matters, including wills, powers of attorney and estate administration, with a particular interest in supporting elderly clients.
Scott Milne, joint managing partner at Thorntons, commented: "At Thorntons, we are committed to the development of our people, allowing us to provide the highest level of quality and specialist services to our clients.
"Caroline and Lynne's promotions are much deserved and both are making invaluable contributions to the growth of the firm in their respective areas of law."
