Three way contest in prospect for next Dean of Faculty
Three candidates have been nominated in the election for the next Dean of the Faculty of Advocates.
Roddy Dunlop QC, Peter Gray QC and Gordon Jackson QC, the current Vice Dean, have all been put forward, and while a nomination can be withdrawn until noon on Thursday 16 June, preparations are being made for a ballot with the three names.
Meetings at which the candidates can address members, and be questioned, will be held in Edinburgh (Laigh Hall) on Wednesday 22 June, at 6pm, and in Glasgow (Royal Faculty of Procurators Library) on Thursday 23 June, at 6.30pm.
An online ballot will be open from 9.30am on Friday 24 June until 3 pm on Tuesday 28 June, when the result will be announced.
The office became vacant after James Wolffe QC was appointed Lord Advocate.
