Two big firms recognised with top awards

Two legal firms with a big Scottish presence are marking significant award wins.

Brodies picked up the Scotland Law Firm of the Year trophy for the fifth time at the Who’s Who Legal Awards in New York on Monday night; and Pinsent Masons has been named Law Firm of the Year 2016 at the Legal Business Awards.

Who’s Who Legal is strategic research partner of the ABA Section of International Law. Only the lawyers who score most highly according to its independent international research criteria are listed there. Its awards ceremony, at the University Club in New York, recognised leading lawyers and firms from 35 practice areas and over 50 countries. Winners are selected on a range of factors, including feedback received from clients and peers in the research process, past performance in the research and the overall aggregate number of weighted votes cast in their favour.

The Legal Business Awards are judged by general counsel from some of the UK’s largest corporates. Pinsent Masons was also awarded Energy & Infrastructure Team of the Year.
