Two construction partners sign for CMS

27th February 2015 | careers

International law firm CMS has hired two new partners to its construction team in Scotland.

Shona Frame, a construction disputes specialist, will join the firm from MacRoberts, while Ian McCann moves from DWF.

Ms Frame, who has more than 20 years’ experience, advises on all forms of construction dispute resolution, acting for a range of parties and as legal adviser to arbitrators and adjudicators. She has a dual accreditation by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in construction law and in arbitration law.

Mr McCann brings more than 10 years’ experience in all aspects of non-contentious construction law, in both the public and private sectors.

CMS construction partner Lindy Patterson QC commented: “With a resurgence of the UK economy and significant success in international markets, it has been a priority that we continue to add partner capacity to our impressive construction team. Adding Shona and Ian will build on our success, and confirms that we have a business with momentum.”

Referring to last year's merger with Dundas & Wilson and subsequent high profile hires, Caryn Penley, executive partner for Scotland, added: “Following the firm’s combination in May, we have seen an increase in activity driven by client demand. These significant appointments represent both the domestic and international expertise that we are able to offer our clients, and reinforce our commitment to deliver a first class client service in Scotland.”
