Two Lanarkshire firms unveil merger

15th January 2018 | practice management

Two Lanarkshire legal firms have announced their merger.

Hamilton conveyancing and executry firm Stirling Dunlop, and Baker Gostelow Family Law of Blantyre, have joined forces and are offering their full range of services across both offices.

The combined team of nine staff includes four lawyers and an accredited family law mediator.

John Stirling, from Stirling Dunlop, remains with the firm as he enters his 47th year of practice. In a letter to clents he said he had been "looking for some time" at options to extend the range of services offered.

The deal gives Gillian Baker and Paul Gostelow, from Baker Gostelow, a presence in Hamilton town centre for the first time since the formation of the firm in 2003.

Mr Gostelow commented: "We’re delighted to be expanding our family law service into Hamilton and to provide the Hamilton and Blantyre communities with a complete property law service – whether they want to buy or sell their house, or are a business wanting help with a commercial lease or sale. Both our office addresses, phone numbers, and website details will remain as they are, although visitors to 36 Cadzow Street [Hamilton] can expect to see new signage and branding in the coming weeks to reflect the combined firm."
