Two new advocates admitted to Faculty
Two new members have been welcomed to the Faculty of Advocates, in a ceremony on Friday.
Jacqueline Fordyce and Roddy MacLeod, who have each practised as solicitors, were admitted to membership of the Faculty on taking the declaration of allegiance before Lady Wolffe.
Ms Fordyce, who comes from north-east Fife, graduated with the LLB from the University of Edinburgh in 2006, qualified as a solicitor with Fyfe Ireland in Edinburgh and practised with Tods Murray, being admitted as a Writer to the Signet in 2011. In 2013, she graduated from the University of Strathclyde with the degree of Master of Laws in Advocacy. She has also served as law clerk to the then Lord Justice Clerk, Lord Carloway.
Mr MacLeod, who grew up in Edinburgh, graduated LLB from the University of Glasgow in 1997 and then Master of Laws from the University of Amsterdam. He practised as a solicitor for 14 years until deciding to join the bar. Author of a number of legal articles, he is also a member of the disciplinary committee of the Scottish Rugby Union, a retained firefighter and a member of the board of trustees of the Fire Fighters Charity.
