Two senior associates join Morton Fraser

28th June 2017 | careers

Legal firm Morton Fraser has appointed two senior associates to strengthen its corporate and employment teams.

Melanie Schwindt, dual qualified in English and Scots law, joins the corporate practice from MBM Commercial. She has specific expertise in advising startups and spinouts, and in securing both venture capital and angel investment, and will support Morton Fraser’s ongoing sponsorship of the Converge Challenge, which works to nurture entrepreneurs through a development programme and company creation competition. Morton Fraser now has 14 dual qualified lawyers.

Sarah Gilzean joins the employment law team. She has extensive knowledge of discrimination and equal pay matters, having previously worked for HBJ Gateley (now Addleshaw Goddard) and the Equality and Human Rights Commission, including in several high profile discrimination cases.

Chris Harte, chief executive of Morton Fraser commented: “We welcome both Melanie and Sarah to the Morton Fraser team. We’re an independent firm that prides itself on employing the very best talent and giving clear advice to our clients. Both Sarah and Melanie are welcome additions and will be an asset to their teams.”
